Where Football Connects Hearts and Minds
The project “Football Connects”, supported by FIFA, enables asylum seekers to participate in weekly football training sessions at various locations in Switzerland. In order to promote integration, local amateur football players also participate in the training sessions. A team of volunteers takes charge of running the training sessions.
If possible, the training sessions are held at the grounds of local football clubs. The clubs provide the training infrastructure and promote integration by involving asylum seekers in club activities. The Football Connects project links the various teams through regional tournaments.
